This edition of "Final Notes" covers Saturday's heat sheets for the Home Meet versus Scott Valley, picture day logistics, a refresher on the final relay, AND a couple of Lap-a-thon lap swimmers are added to this year's 'Lap NEWS of fame'. Remember to dress warm this weekend! Crazy weather.
Volunteer and Swimmer Check In
Our Volunteer Check-in Coordinator for the meet is Nicole Wesley. All meet volunteers please check-in with Nicole at the Volunteer Check-in Table, located by the Age Group Coordinators, between 9:45 - 10:15 am. Please try to sign-in during this time, but if you are not able to, Nicole will attend the a.m. and p.m. timers' meeting to ensure all timers are present and checked-in, and will also verify volunteers with the Snack bar lead for both shifts and finally the ribbons volunteers with the ribbons lead.
Swimmers should check in with Age Group Coordinators after the team picture and before warm-ups which begain at 10:00.
Logistics for Saturday's Photo Day!
Reminder: Swimmers should line up for the team photo Saturday morning at 9:00am on the big cement stairs across from the gym.
Individual Pictures will be taken on the pool deck in the corner of the pool that butts up against the blacktop and tennis courts. Individual and buddy photos will begin after the team photo and will continue throughout at least the first half of the meet, maybe into the second. Listen for announcements. There will be forms at the pool, but for faster service, please print at home and bring with you, or do online. Click here to find the forms. I realize I forgot this link on Monday...
Heat Sheets and Relays
Please click here to find the heat sheets for the meet along with that all important Heat/Lane Report by Swimmer (all girls listed first alpabetically by last name, then boys). Additionally, since this is a dual meet you will also find RELAYS next to the Heat/Lane Report. All age group relay teams are made up of two boys and two girls. Swimmers earn spots on relay teams based on their times. Please review these relay teams carefully. Also note that relays appear on the Heat/Lane report as well and the number next to the Heat and Lane represents the swimmers position on the team...i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th.
What do Relay Swimmers Need to Know...Especially FREE RELAY Swimmers?
While we did our best to try and figure out notes, it is entirely possible that your child has been placed in a relay that s/he will not be able to make. If this is the case, PLEASE notify our head Age Group Coordinator, Kathy Slaught (firstname.lastname@example.org) ASAP so that she may begin working with coach Marie to find a replacement.
We hope that everyone can remember to notify Kathy Slaught email@example.com ahead of time if your child cannot be in a relay, and in the event that you have an emergency that causes you to have to leave early from the meet, that you please notify an age group coordinator before you leave.
Relay swimmers age 14 and Under - Please make sure you check in with the Age Group Coordinators Saturday morning (right after the team picture). They need to know you are at the meet!
Additional 15-18 relays will be made by coach Marie on Saturday, once she knows for sure who is there. All high school age swimmers should check in with Marie as soon as they arrive at the meet (hopefully by team picture time), but no later than 10:00am.
What if my child is not listed on the Heat Sheets?
While all of us who work with the computer folks from around the league try to do our best not to make any mistakes in setting up meets, the truth is that mistakes do happen almost every meet. However, our goal is to do the best we can to fix any mistakes we make as soon as we can. If you notice that your child was inadvertently left off the heat sheets, please notify Liz Foley as soon as possible.
What if my child is listed on the Heat Sheets but won't be able to Swim Afterall?
Please just let Liz Foley and Kathy Slaught know if your child will not be at the meet.
"Lap NEWS of Fame" Update
Lap-a-thon records were set this past Monday (in laps swum that is...) and two of those record setters were inadvertently left off of our winners announcement. Congratulations to Gabby Grow and Kate Morgan from the 9-10 Gold group for their recording setting efforts to swim 142 laps each on Monday! Stay tuned for more "Lap NEWS of Fame" next week as we announce our Coach of the Day winners! Still haven't had a chance to donate? It is not too late! Online donations will be accepted through Wednesday of next week...help us reach our 99% participation goal!
