This week's NEWS covers the Novato meet wrap up, a reminder that we'll have our very special Coach of the Day coaches on Wednesday at Redwood, and Tuesday at COM, this week's busy meet weekend--home meet versus Rolling Hills on Saturday and All Stars meet on Sunday, and looking ahead to next week for another swim team favorite tradition-- BINGO night! Read on...
Meet Results from Waves at Novato
Final score this Saturday was Waves 320 to Riptide 239. As advertised, the competition was as HOT as the weather, and results were sizzling fun for everyone! Any way we slice it, we won by points and improvement (41% to 38%) as our WAVES fought hard to make more BEST TIMES and more ALL STAR TIMES! Congratulations to our 5 new All Star swimmers, and the many who added a new stroke to their collections. WAVES posted 221 best times for just over 390 seconds of improvement! Extremely impressive for this point in the season.

And, last but certainly not least, check out our very impressive list of swimmers who have recorded All Star Qualifying Times for the season. We have ONE MORE meet where swimmers can qualify-- this Saturday at our HOME pool. This should be another exciting meet. And don't miss the updates to the Top 20 Swims Report that should be posted on the website later today. Keep up the good work (and practice) swimmers!
Please Declare Strokes, Leave Notes, or Decline Meet by Wednesday, 9:00am
It is time to log strokes, leave notes or decline this coming Saturday's HOME meet versus the Rolling Hills Stingrays. Remember the deadline for meet declines, stroke choices, and notes to Coach Marie about early departures, late arrivals, etc. is Wednesday, June 6th at 9:00am. Click here to go to the Rolling Hills Meet and declare your swimmer(s) intents. Remember, all swimmers are assumed to be swimming in the meet unless you decline for them. To help us run another exemplary meet, we need everyone's cooperation in meeting this deadline.
What if My Child Qualifies for All Stars at THIS Saturday's Meet?
We sure hope lots of them do! So much so, that you have many volunteers working overtime to help get each of these qualifiers into Sunday's meet. Liz Foley will station herself at the side of the pool that faces the scoreboard and will watch as many races as possible (it is suppose to be HOT, so I may need to seek shade at times--but I'll be identifiable by my REI pool chair). If you believe your child has achieved an All Star time, please come find me and I will write their name and stroke down, verify the results at the end of the meet, and let the league know to include the swimmer in Sunday's All Star meet. Heat Sheets for Sunday's meet will be posted around 8:00pm on Saturday, but you will be notified of your child's qualification by 6:00pm.
Mark Your Calendar: BINGO NIGHT is Coming Wednesday, June 13th
Bowling was a blast for those who attended, and BINGO is another team tradition that the kids love! Cash prizes, munchies, and good old fashioned, non video game fun! Oh, and there is a modified practice schedule so the kids can fit it in. All AT REDWOOD. Please click here to see the schedule for Practice and BINGO on the same night. Thank you again coaches for doing this for our kids!
