Final Notes before Champs and Awards Banquet!

The excitement in the air over Champs is infectious!  Heat Sheets are ready and we're getting ready for our PASTA feed tomorrow night and the Awards Banquet on Sunday.  A heck of a way to end another WAVE-tastic season!  Oh, that's right, it won't be the end of this WAVE-tastic season...we will still have the pool party and the 4th of July parade left to crush next week!  Read on...

Champs Heat Sheets Now AVAILABLE

Click here to find Heat Sheets and the Event/Heat/Lane report for our swimmers.  There are no Age Group Coordinators at Champs, so please write the information on your swimmers' hands.  Remember there is a Morning Shallow meet, a Morning Deep meet, an Afternoon Shallow meet, and an Afternoon Deep meet. Here's the delineation in a nut shell (or table).

A Note on Relays:  Relay Names are posted.  ALL relays are held in the DEEP end of the pool and then the Shallow meet begins immediately after.  Everybody can cheer on our relay teams!

A Note on Heat Order:  You may notice that for Champs the fastest heat is the last heat.  Not exactly sure why (perhaps to build anticipation?), but be aware when you are preparing your swimmer for his/her events.

Meet Who Warm-ups Start Time Volunteer Check In

To all Champs volunteers, thank you for volunteering!  Don't worry, its easy once you are there.  Adrienne Brown, our volunteer coordinator, will be meeting all Tidalwaves volunteers at the Tidalwaves tents.  Please arrive 15 minutes before your volunteer shift so that she can help get you your badge and point you in the direction of your team lead.   Many of you will be hearing from your volunteer team leaders within the next 24 hours.  If you don't, don't panic.   You'll be directed where to go on Saturday.   If you haven't yet read the  Champs Packet put together by the host team, you probably want to do that before Saturday (or at least scan it).

Reminder:  Please Register for Awards Banquet!

If you have not yet done so, we would love to have everyone register ahead of time for this wonderful wrap up to our season.  The kids love it.  All kids receive a trophy and team gift and it is the highlight of the season for almost all of them!  The event is on Sunday, July 1st from 5:00 - 8:30pm.  The event will be at the San Rafael Community Center.   Click here to register online.  Online registration cost is $15/person.  Door price $20/person.  Can't make it?  Send Sonya DeForrest sonystad@sbcglobal.net a quick e-mail so she can set your child's trophy and gift aside.  That way, we won't be spending a lot of time clapping for people not there.  Now that will be a TEAM GIFT we can all enjoy!

Friday Practice Schedule and Pasta Feed details

Tomorrow, Friday, June 29th is special fun!  All swimmers come together to practice at 4:30pm.  Swimmers will do their pre-Champs warm-up and will get psyched up for the big meet together with a coaches pep talk and team cheer and then we feed them all PASTA and let them decorate family cars to show their enthusiasm and team spirit for the big Champs meet on the 11th.  No need to RSVP for this one.  Decorating materials provided.  Please bring a car.  There will be plenty of pasta for the swimmers (sorry parents, no food for us).  We feed at 5:00 and coaches want the kids home and in bed early!  Remember, lots or rest will help swimmers do their best!

Still Need RSVP's for the July 3rd "Don't Want to Miss" Pool Party

RSVP by July 1st--(on this Sign Up Genius)... We'll provide the main attraction, but need all party goers to bring a supporting dish (it's o.k. if it outshines the main--go ahead, go all out)!

Pool Party is for all kids (adults if accompanying a younger sibling).  Tons of float toys, games and free play, no lane lines, and the infamous Coaches Coin Dive!!  Over $600 in coin to be scavenged by our well trained swimmers and divers.  Don't forget a good sized sock to store your scavenged booty haul--and of course goggles!

Pool play fun goes from 3:30pm to 5:30pm, and then we'll eat!  Please RSVP for the potluck.

Still Room to Get Involved in the 4th of July Parade

Winners of the Corte Madera/Larkspur parade 2 years in a row, the community is now depending on us!!  They can't wait to see what we'll do this year!  We've had dancers, tie-dyed t-shirts, and the best looking floats you could imagine, but more than that, we have TEAM SPIRIT and a TON of FUN!  This year our float will top all previous years, and we've added a walking pool that is sure to be parade goer's favorite!  Here's the sign up genius with all the details.   It's all fun and its all Tidalwaves (plus its practically a requirement of youth)!!

One Last Thing:  GOOOOOOO WAVES!
