New Swimmer Meet Information

 

 

ALL SWIMMERS NEED TO HAVE TEAM GEAR:

 

BLACK SUIT ONLY

TEAM CAP

 

WHITE CA SHIRT - SATURDAY

BLACK CA SHIRT - SUNDAY

 

GOGGLES – MAKE SURE THEY ARE IN GOOD CONDITION – CHECK STRAPS

 

TOWELS – AT LEAST 2 OR MORE

 

WATER BOTTLES - FULL

 

HEALTHY SNACKS –LIKE BAGELS – GRANOLA BARS – BANANAS -

SHOULD NOT RUN ON SUGAR

 

CHAIRS TO SIT ON – SOMETHING TO KEEP BUSY

 

WARM CLOTHES – ALL SKIN SHOULD BE COVERED IN-BETWEEN SWIMS – NO OTHER TEAMS (Summer or school) ITEMS

 

REMEMBER TO LABEL YOUR CHILD’S BELONGINGS THEY ALL LOOK ALIKE –EVEN TOWELS

 

ALL SWIMMERS MUST BE ON TIME FOR WARM UPS– 15 MIN BEFORE START TO GET READY

 

MEET PROCEDURES

 

KNOW WHAT EVENTS YOU ARE SWIMMING (PARENTS WRITE EVENT HEAT LN ON SWIMMERS HAND WITH SHARPIE:  #2  H3 L5)

 

NEED TO STAY WITH THE TEAM – LET COACH/PARENT HELPER KNOW IF LEAVING THE DECK FOR ANY REASON

 

SEE COACH BEFORE SWIM AT LEAST 5 HEATS - MORE IF 50 OR LESS

 

STAY AT LANE ONCE WE SEND YOU TO YOUR LANE – PAY ATTENTION

 

COOL DOWN AFTER SWIM 10 MIN OR 400/500 (UNLESS VERY SMALL MEET)

 

SEE COACH AFTER COOL DOWN (SEE PARENTS AFTER COACH)

 

HYDRATE AND FUEL AFTER EACH SWIM (SMALL AMOUNTS)

 

ATTEND PRACTICES – SO THEY ARE READY FOR MEET

 

REMEMBER THAT IT IS VERY NORMAL FOR YOUR SWIMMER TO FEEL VERY NERVOUS AND MAY EVEN TELL YOU THAT THEY FEEL SICK. 

 

THE FIRST MEET THAT VERY YOUNG SWIMMERS GO TO IT IS VERY NORMAL TO SEE TEARS.

 

TRY TO BE PREPARED FOR THIS.

 

BE POSITIVE FOR ALL THEIR SWIM (GREAT JOB)
