Three NLSC members were named to the USA Swimming Scholastic
All-America Team today. Kelly Brakora, Erin McDuffie, and
Wyatt Adams were each named to the 2007-08 team. Nine-hundred
and seventy-four athletes made the team this year, including 600
women and 374 men. The 3 NLSC swimmers were the only Alaskans
named to the team.
Criteria for selection to the Scholastic All-America Team
include the following:
- Must have completed 10th, 11th or 12th grade
- Must be a USA Swimming member athlete
- Must have participated in an individual event that met the Junior
National Bonus Time Standard during the qualifying period of
July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008.
- Must have achieved a 3.5 GPA
This selection marked Kelly Brakora’s 2nd selection to the
team. Erin McDuffie and Wyatt Adams were selected for their
first time.
Certificates and awards will be mailed to each Scholastic
All-American later this fall. Applications for the 2008-09
year will be available on the
USA Swimming Web site Jan. 1, 2009t. Deadline for
