The swimming community is in desperate need of stroke and turn
officials. NLSC is one of the largest swim clubs in Anchorage
and yet we have very few officials on deck.
Stroke and turn officials are our limiting factor when it comes to
running double-ended meets. And we all know that
running double-ended meets means we all get out of the pool faster
on meet days!
So…. If you’ve ever thought you might want to be
an official or you are looking for a way to help out while your
kids are swimming…. This is it! There is no
experience necessary, you will be provided with extensive
training. Wouldn’t it be fun to be on deck and know
what it means when your kids say “ I got DQ’d on
my breast stroke pulldown!”
We are planning stroke and turn official training in conjunction
with the NLSCB Valentine’s Invite on Friday and Saturday, Feb
6th and 7th.
Times are tentative but we are planning a start time of 4:30 pm on
Friday and 7:00 am on Saturday – both immediately prior to
the start of the meet. There will some videos, instruction,
and then hands on training during the meet.
If you are interested in becoming a stroke and turn official please
contact Paula Smith directly at:
list2012@gmail.com
If those times don’t work for you, please contact Paula
anyway and we will arrange alternate training.
Thanks,
Lisa
