Today USA Swimming announced that it had awarded Northern Lights
Swim Club a prestigious Level IV rating in it's Club Recognition
Program. The program identifies and recognizes club programs
that demonstrate a commitment to improving the performance of their
athletes, the services provided by the club, and several measures
of organizational and business success. There are 4 levels in
the Club Recognition Program with Level IV being the highest.
Northern Lights Swim Club is the 1st Alaskan club, and only the
second club in the entire Western Zone, to achieve this
honor. In fact there are fewer than 20 clubs in the country
who have achieved a level 4 rating.
According to USA Swimming, the program benefits all clubs by
setting standards and metrics for clubs to achieve. Recognition is
given based on criteria specific to developing quality age group
based programs including communication, education, and
participation activities. It benefits all member clubs by setting
standards and encouraging innovation to raise the level of USA
Swimming member clubs.
