The Chico AquaJets competed at the
Sierra Marlins Swim Meet held at the Folsom Aquatic Center this
past weekend. The team was led by ten year old Grayson Aird. Aird
won gold in the 100 yard Individual Medley; he swam to silver in
the 200 yd I.M., the 50 yd butterfly, and the 50 yd breaststroke;
she earned bronze in the 100 yd breast and the 100 yd freestyle; he
swam to fourth in the 200 yd free; and fifth in the 500 yd free.
Jamie Deas, 8; swam to gold in the 25 yd back; she earned silver in
the 50 fly and the 25 yd free; and she finished fourth in the 100
yd free. Madison Hopkins, 9; swam to gold in the 500 yd free; she
earned silver in the50 yd backstroke; she swam to bronze in the 100
yd fly, the 50 yd free, the 50 yd fly, the 100 yd back, and the 100
yd free; and she swam to sixth in the 100 yd I.M. Dylan Gray, 17;
swam to gold in the 100 yd breast; silver in the 200 yd breast;
fifth in the 50 yd free and the 100 yd free; sixth in the 200 yd
free; and seventh in the 100 yd back. Kimberly Harbert, 10; swam to
gold in the 50 yd fly; silver in the 50 yd back; she swam to fourth
in the 100 fly, 100 back, and 50 breast; and she earned seventh in
the 100 free. Donna Hayes, 15, swam to gold in the 100 yd breast;
she earned silver in the 200 yd breast; she swam to sixth in the 50
and 200 yd free; and she swam to eighth in the 100 yd back and the
100 yd free. Casey Ehrlich, 8; swam to gold in the 50 yd back; she
earned silver in the 50 yd breast; she swam to bronze in the 50 yd
free; she earned fourth in the 100 yd I.M.; fifth in the 50 yd fly;
and seventh in the 100 yd free. Jordan Deas, 7, swam to gold in the
50 yd breast.
Also earning top three finishes for
the AquaJets were Sean Thomas, 12; who swam to silver in the 50 and
100 breast and the 1000 yd free; he earned bronze in the 200 yd
breast. Morgan Hughes,16; swam to silver in the 200 yd I.M., she
earned bronze in the 400 yd I.M. and the 100 yd fly. Henry
Hernandez, 16; swam to bronze in the 100 yd fly, the 100 yd back,
and the 200 yd fly. Connor Hughes, 12; swam to bronze in the 50 yd
back and the 100 yd fly. Benjamin Geise, 10; swam to bronze in the
100 yd fly. Jaelyn Cornwell, 7, earned bronze in the 50 yd breast.
The entire team swam great the
following swimmers also swam to top eight finishes: Cydni Aird, 13;
Liam Davis, 8; Jessica Deas, 10; Brigid Ehrlich, 14; Kate
Goldblatt, 12; Rebecca Harbert, 10; Chase Hopkins, 15; Emily Hull,
