Senior Sean Deegan has signed his national
letter of intent to swim for the Missouri University of
Science and Technology in Rolla, MO. This is an up and coming
program that placed in the top four at the Division II swimming and
diving championships the past four seasons, including a 2nd place
finish in the 07-08 season.
Coach Grooms had this to say about Sean:
"I am very excited to sign Sean and welcome him to the
Miner Swim Program. The combination of Sean’s academic
success as well as his talent in the pool makes him an ideal fit
for our university.
Sean has a very solid background coming from your program
along with Coach Haley and the high school team. I saw Sean swim as
a junior and was very impressed with his technique. He has made
tremendous improvement over his senior year and I feel like he is
only going to continue to get better. Sean will be a sprinter for
us and we look to develop him from 50-200 in the freestyles and
possibly in the backstroke as well. Sean has the potential to be an
impact swimmer from day one and continue to be one of our best
ever!"
This is very exciting day for Sean and his
family. Make sure to wish Sean the best of luck next
year.
Coach Brian
