Swim-a-Thon Pledge Sheets Have Been Handed Out

WBST Swim-a-Thon (SAT) 2009

 
Official Date: Wednesday, June10, 2009 (Or make arrangements with your coach for an alternate date; last day to swim is Friday, June 12)
 
Time:  Swim Team Practice time
 
Purpose:
To raise operating funds for our Summer Season (Long Course Meters), May 1- mid August. Minimum fundraising amount for each swimmer is $125. This year 5% of all SAT earnings will be donated to the Scott Russell Foundation, to benefit Woodburn’s severely injured Chief of Police.
 
Participants: Coach Zell is expecting 100% participation of swimmers and parents.
 
How:
Swimmers collect pledges (with help from parents), swimmers swim 200 lengths     (5000yards)/ or 2 hours, whichever comes first, on the day of SAT, parents count laps on the day  of SAT, coach verifies each swim by signing lap counting sheet, swimmers collect money earned and turn it in by due date. Ask relatives, neighbors, friends, dentist, doctor, orthodontist, businesses, etc.
 
Incentives:
Weekly Incentive: Swimmers bring their pledge sheets each week on Mon. or Tue. to be checked off after practice by your site coordinator; those with new pledges receive a treat after practice. The swimmer at each pool that brings in the highest dollar amount in new pledges each week gets to “pie the coachý on Friday. First check-in is Mon., May 11.
 
Prizes: Prizes are awarded according to the amount of money collected and turned in on time (By June 22). Prizes should be ordered when turning in pledge money. Swimmers must order their prize, specifying size, color, etc when they turn in their pledge money. The prize order can be written on the pledge sheet on the back or at the bottom.
 
Raffle: There will be a raffle after SAT with additional prizes for swimmers who earn tickets. One ticket is awarded for each $100 turned in on time. We have many nice prizes for the raffle and parents are welcome to donate appropriate prizes.       
 
“Coach of the Day": Whichever swimmer in each of the respective training groups (bronze, silver, gold/senior) at each pool, who turns in the most dollars in their group (minimum amount of $100) gets to be “Coach of the Dayý under the supervision of their coach. This is a chance to coach your group for 15-30 minutes.
 
Special prizes will be awarded the top three $ earners.
 
Money due date: Monday, June 22, 2009.
 To qualify for prizes and the raffle all money and unused forms/envelopes must be turned in to your SAT Site coordinator at your pool.
