The swim team traveled to Reno 2 weeks ago
for the Annual High Altitude meet. This meet serves two purposes,
one being the chance to swim against swimmers from Nevada and
Oregon at a high altitude, and the other to give a chance for the
kids to have fun at the Grand Sierra Hotel. A big thanks to Asa for
arranging the rooms at this great hotel. I don’t know what I
enjoyed more, watching the kids compete in the pool or in the hotel
arcade. Even at such a high altitude the team managed to accrue a
whopping 147 best times as well as 9 new time standards including 1
New Junior Olympic time. Congratulations to
Caroline for taking 2nd place as high point leader in her age
group.
This past week we traveled to San Jose
where the temperature reached over 100 degrees.
A small number of swimmers competed in this meet
but they were still able to achieve 87 best times and 14 new time
standards including 4 new Junior Olympic times.
Next up the Junior Olympics back at San
Jose Independence High School July
16-19th. Good Luck
