Friday (7/10) we have another
"Fun Friday" event at the Tumlinson Park pavilion. This is the
“pie-in-the-face” event! Swimmers that earned a
“bingo” at our last meet get a free pie to
“give”’ a coach of their choice. Everybody
else can buy pie(s). We will also be decorating cars.
Starts at 6:30!
Saturday (7/11) is our last swim meet of the season. It is
our Divisionals championship meet at Wells Branch pool.
Timeline for Saturday:
Really early – set up crew shows up – I’ll have
tents there at 5:15AM
5:30 AM – board members check in
6:00 AM – volunteers and swimmers check in
6:20 – 7:20 AM – BHC swimmer warm ups
7:30 AM – meet start
Notes for the meet:
- The directions to Wells Branch pool on the web site are not the
best.

At the risk of confusing everybody, I find it’s easier to get
to the pool by going:
- down I35 South to Grand Ave Parkway
- right on Grand Ave Parkway
- left on Bratton Ln (4th left – there’s a stop
sign)
- right on Sauls Dr (1st right)
Google or Mapquest it – you’ll see what I
mean.
Our pit area at Wells Branch
pool has a playground adjacent to it. There is also a child
attracting drainage area nearby. We recommend our swimmers
stay off the equipment during the meet to conserve energy for their
events and avoid injuries. However, we recognize the
challenges with keeping kids off the equipment. That being
said please consider the following:
- parents are responsible for their swimmer’s safety during
the meets
- parents are responsible for making sure their swimmers are in the
pit tent ready for their next event
- pit parent volunteers are there to supervise swimmers in the pit
tent and get the swimmers organized and to the ready bench in time
for their event
- pit parent volunteers are not responsible for tracking down
missing swimmers and we must scratch missing swimmers so the meet
runs smoothly
Parking is always an issue at
Wells Branch pool. Parking in the pool parking lot is
restricted to people with a parking pass. There is
parking “across the street” from the pool. There
will be volunteers and police officers directing traffic Saturday
morning. It will be near dark when you arrive. Please
be careful and follow their guidance.
