Championships Information

It is critical that every family review the following information in preparation for Championships.  Please click each link and review the corresponding information and schedules.

There is an adjustment for having swimsuits approved at Championships, which will hopefully improve the process for approval of swimsuits that are not official team suits or official high school team suits.  It still stands that NO technical suits of any kind are allowed, and the rule specifically states that suits must be of equal or lesser fabric and/or construction than our team suit.

All swimmers that will NOT be wearing the team suit need to bring their race suit to practice Thursday or Friday to be approved by Coach LaMills or League Rep, Jenni Sanders.

Note:  All caution should be used with the understanding that the coach is NOT the final authority and a challenge by another team will initiate a process where the meet referee will take the swimsuit in question along with one of our team suits to decide if it is of equal or lesser material (lycra, nylon, etc.) and equal or lesser construction (fabric pull, forcing of posture, supporting of body, etc.) before scoring is finalized at Championships.  Thus, any decision to “push the envelope” with a swimsuit could result in a disqualification.

Please do not risk putting our team in this situation.

Failure to attend required number of meets and/or Championships without board approval will result in loss of returning swimmer status.
Failure to show up or cover your volunteer shift will require the submission of a check in the amount of $500.00, payable to the Johnson Ranch Barracudas. This deposit will be fully refunded if all volunteer shift obligations are met, but will be forfeited if they are not. Swimmers will not be able to participate in meets until the deposit has been submitted.
