Relay Carnival Information

On July 22, we visit Belmont for the annual Relay Carnival.  Joining us this year will be the Brambleton Bettas, to make it a 3 team event.  Following are the events and descriptions of each.  Note event 14, which is an Over-30 Freestyle Relay.  If you are over 30 and want to swim in a relay, please email me at info@LansdowneLightning.com and we’ll put you on a relay team.

1.      6&U Mixed Free Relay (4x25) 1 heat:  2 boys/2 girls
2.      13-14, 15-18 Boys Grudge Medley Relay (4x50) 1 heat:
              4 boys who think they are faster than their Teen competitors
3.      13-14, 15-18 Girls Grudge Medley Relay (4x50) 1 heat:
              4 girls who think they are faster than their Teen competitors
4.      7&8 Mixed Free Relay (4x25) 4 heats:  2 boys/2 girls
5.      11-12 Cutest Couple Medley Relay 2 heats:  2 boys/2girls
6.      Coaches Medley Relay (4x25) 1 heat:
              Each Coach must demonstrate their best solo cheer prior to entering the water
7.      9-10 Mixed Free Relay (4x25) 3 heats:  2 boys/2 girls
8.      Family Free Relay (4x25) 2 heats:
         Family members from a maximum of 2 families, any age, parents permitted
9.      13-14 Summer Crush Medley Relay (4x25) 2 heats:  2 boys/2 girls

10.    Open Australian Relay (#x25) 1 race:  (limit 10 minutes): 1 lane for each team
         start on opposite sides of the pool and race until one team catches the other.
11.    15-18 Hot Date Medley Relay (4x25) 2 heat:  2 boys/2 girls

12.    10&U Mixed T-Shirt Relay (4x25) 2 heats:  2 boys/2 girls
13.    11-12 Underwater Commando Relay (4x25) 1 heat:  Any gender
14.    Over 30 Free Relay (4x25) 1 heat:  minimum 1/gender, no coaches
15.    Boys Crescendo Free Relay (6x25) 1 heat:  6 boys/ 1 from each age-group
16.    Girls Crescendo Free Relay (6x25) 1 heat:  6 girls/ 1 from each age-group
       

The schedule for the conduct of the Relay Carnival will be:

a.      Belmont Warm-up: 4:30-4:45 PM
b.      Lansdowne Warm-up: 4:45-5:00 PM
c.      Brambleton Warm-up: 5:00-5:15 PM
c.      Great Cheer-Off: 5:15-5:20 PM
d.      Timers Warm-up: 5:20 PM
e.      Event 1 reports: 5:20 PM
f.       National Anthem: 5:25 PM
g.      Meet starts at: 5:30 PM
h.      Desired completion: 9:00 PM
 
Please park in the pool parking lot.  When this parking lot full park along Medalist Drive only on the side adjacent to the pool.  Please do not park on the opposite side of Medalist Drive.
