ALBERTA SWIMMERS DOING WELL AT THE US
OPEN
As day 3 wrapped up at the US Open, Alberta swimmers continue
to swim strong.
On Thursday, Day 2, the Junior Solo finals were held where the
pre-swimmer and the
top Canadian placement was from Alberta. Kristine Irwin of the
Calgary Aquabelles.
finished 7th overall in the event and was one of 5 Canadians
to swim in the Solo Final.
Day 3 focused on Senior Technical events for the Alberta Team.
Emily Whalen of the
Edmonton Auroras had a good solid solo technical swim today
placing 4th.
The Senior Duet technical swam well, exhibiting very fast
movements compared to
other American technical duets. They are currently sitting
first in the event by over 2
marks. The Senior technical team swam first draw and sits
second behind the Santa
Clara California Senior team. The Alberta team is 2 points
ahead of the third ranked
team.
Tomorrow is the final day of competition with the Senior free
programs and Junior team
prelims and finals. Based on figure results the Alberta Junior
team is sitting third behind
Quebec and Ontario who are also at the event.
