Crystal Kibby Qualifies for US Open

At the Mt. Hood Sectional Championship Day Two Prelims, Crystal Kibby swam a best time of 2:38.66 in the 200 Meter Breaststroke, dropping 1.38 seconds off her previous best set two years ago.  This time qualified Crystal for the LCM Junior National meet.  However, Crystal came back Wednesday night swimming in the final heat of the Women’s 200 Meter Breaststroke and went a 2:35.24 200 Meter Breaststroke, dropping another 3.42 seconds from her morning prelim swim!!!  This time qualified Crystal for the US Open.  It also is a National Qualifying time standard and World Trial standard!

Crystal still has competition swims in the 400 IM, 100 Breaststroke, 200 IM and 50 Freestyle.  Also Crystal is part of the remaining Bearcat Relays: 400 Freestyle, 800 Freestyle and 400 Medley.

Crystal will join Bearcat teammate, Tori Simenec, in 1 1/2 weeks at Federal Way for the US Open.
