What a
meet!
NSS swam really
well this weekend, with personal bests posted across the board, and
several new cuts and time standards achieved! Eight
NSS swimmers
competed this weekend: Brett Boston, Ashley Frith, Sam Frost,
Walker Knop, Julia Neal, Andreas Nilsson, Michaela Nilsson and Will
Paden. The Women finished 7th overall, the Men
finished 3rd overall, and The Snakes finished 5th in the Team Point
totals! In addition, Walker Knop finished 2nd in the
male Individual High Point standings. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
Not to be outdone by the
swimmers, NSS swimmers, families and
friends put on a fabulous meet. We staffed EVERY single
volunteer position, with no calls for "6 more timers are please",
fed all of the coaches and officials, ran the concession
stand...the list goes on! Many worked multiple sessions,
but it was truly a TEAM effort. Thank you to all who
pitched in, donated, ran errands, and just generally jumped in and
helped wherever needed. A special thanks to Jean Neal for
overseeing the hospitality suite, Ellen Smith for heading up the
concession stand, Katie Kirby for manning the Clerk of Course at
every session, Wendi Frost for being every where all the time, and
all the others who jumped in and did whatever was needed. We
aren't a large team, but it just goes to show that when we all
pitch in, we really can put on a great meet.
