The 10 & Under State Champs that were held
the weekend of July 10 were as successful as any meet I’ve
ever been to. We started out the meet on Saturday with 10 swims and
ended up with 10 Lifetime best times! Way to go Bearcats. Sunday
was nearly just as Fantastic!
The Bearcats Qualified 7 swimmers to compete
and 6 competed in individual races.
Ian Schultz, Age group 1, was our lone 8 &
Under placing 29th in his 50 back and better yet 23 in his 100
free. Great Swims Ian!
Tyler Cook, Age Group 2, qualified nearly last
minute in the 50free and sprinted to 11th place! Unbelievable!

Jessica Coats, Age group 3, qualified in 4
races. her 50 free place was 19th and 100free place was 14th. Her
butterfly shined with 2 12th place finishes, in the 50 and 100!

Marissa Kuch, Age group 3, swam in 6 races,
the most you can compete in. She placed 18th in the 50free and 17th
in the 100free. she had 3 top 10 finishes in the 200im placing
10th, 100back placing 7, and the 50 breast placing 6. Her best
race, the 100 breast, she raced to 4th place. Awesome
Riss!
Levi Burres, age group 3, also swam in 6 races
over the course of the weekend. He placed 17th in the 100free and
11th in the 50 fly. Then he improved to 3- 8th place finishes, 50
breast, 50 back and 200IM. His best race, the 100 breast, he
finished in 6th place. Awesome Swims Bud!
Colby Evenson, age group 3, concludes our
Bearcat team participants. He also swam in 6 races placing in the
top three in all 6. He took 2 third place finishes in the 200 free
and 50 back. Colby then took 2 second place finishes in the 50
breast and 100back. Colby finished the weekend with 2 state
championship titles in the 50 free and 100 free. Way to go
Colby!
Over all, the weekend was a huge success! We
look forward to a bigger state team in a year and really being a
power house age group team! Please take the time to congratulate
these athletes if and when you see them on deck!
