On the final day of the 2009 Speedo Western
Section LC Championship meet, the Thunderbolt team of
Aaron Young, Gabe Rooker, Neil O’Halloran
and Steven Ung smashed the National record in the
15-16 Mens 400 Medley Relay. The record was
previously held by the Irvine Nova Aquatics team of Aaron Peirsol,
Nicholas Yu, Michael Cavic, and Eric Quillen in the time of 3:55.46
set in 2000. The Thunderbolts clocked in at 3:52.66, nearly 3
seconds faster!

This swim also sets a new OSI State
record, bettering the previous record set by the
Hillsboro Heat in 2008 by nearly 10 seconds. This is also a
Jr. National qualifying time.
