Pacific Swimming at 2 prestegious summer All-Star Meets. Ben

Ben Krause, Catherine Boles and Maddy Delore
were chosen to represent Pacific Swimming at the Western Zone All
Star Championship Meet that will take place Aug 5 - Aug 9 in Oahu,
Hawaii.
The Western Zone Championship Meet is one of
the premier Age-Group All Star Meets in the country. The Western
Zone Championship concept has been designed to offer age group
swimmers a stepping stone to the National Championships by offering
an LSC (Local Swim Committee) ALL-STAR team travel meet with a
National Championship-like experience. Every event in every
recognized age group is included in the format, including relays.
The meet hosts between 900 and 1000 swimmers with 4000 to 5000
individual swims.
Selection for the Western Zone Team is highly
competitive and hard to acheive.Priority consideration is given to
swimmers who have achieved at least 5 Western Zone Qualifying
Times. The Western Zone is comprised of teams from
Hawaii, Alaska,
California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico,
Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and Montana and the swimmers who are
chosen to represent their LSC.
Chris
Hausmann has been selected to represent Pacific Swimming at the
North American Challenge Cup.
The North American Challenge Cup is a
cooperative venture of Canada, Mexico, Southern California
Swimming, Pacific Swimming and Pacific Northwest Swimming that is
designed to introduce age group swimmers to international
competition.
The 2009 North
American Challenge Cup will be held August 6-8 in La Mirada,
California. Canada has won the first two contests held at USC in
2007 and in Edmonton in 2008.
Being chosen to represent Pacific Swimming at
these prestegious meets definitely puts these
swimmers amongst the elite athletes of their age in the
country-and even the world for that matter.
CONGRATULATIONS ISLANDER
