Far Western Swimmers Bring Club Record Total to Unprecedented 21 during 3rd Week of Championship Swimming

The records began to melt away at Long Course Pacific Championships and the heat has only increased with each successive competition.  5 Barracuda swimmers lowered 12 team event marks in Concord , then 5 more fell at the USA Champions Series in Clovis .   Far Westerns swimmers have slashed at the standards again at Independence High School Swim Center in San Jose .  Colleen Mayon, Allison Short and Parker Costa fine tuned events from a record setting outing 2 weeks ago at Pacific Championships and lowered their own marks and set new standards.  Allison Short swam from 27th position in the 11-12 girls 50 meter back preliminaries to qualifying 5th into finals at 34.01 and then raced to the bronze medal at night with a 33.97.  Colleen Mayone established herself among the finest 13-14 year old swimmers in Pacific Swimming with her 6th place showing, coming in at 9:50.21 for the 800 meter freestyle.  She also placed her 3rd record for 13-14 girls on the books with a 1:03.55 swim in the 100 meter freestyle.  Parker Costa brought down his own 9-10 boys’ club record for the 4rth time this year with a 5:26.73 time in the 400 meter freestyle that placed in 10th in Northern California for this event.
