Megan Liang did an
awesome job at the Speedo CAN-AM para swim
championships at Edmonton, Canada on 7/30 to 8/1. The IPC
classification put Megan in the class of S9. Being in a big meet
for the first time, she was a bit nervous at the beginning but once
the competition started, she was doing fine. She had personal
best time for 5 events, dropping 8 sec on 200BK. She got into 6
finals out of 7 events she swam. She placed 2nd on
200BK, 4th on 50FR, 5th on 200IM and
6th on 100FR, 100BK and 100FR. She met a few new
friends and got to know some coaches and swimmers of the USA
Paralympics team. She was excited to see a few world records set in
the meet and get to swim in the same heats at the finals with some
of the fast swimmers who hold the American and world records.
It was a great learning experience for Megan. Megan, we love
you and could not be more proud of
you!
