The Bullets had an extremely
successful Age Group State Championship meet this past weekend at
Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, IL. It was one of the
most exciting Age Group State Championship meets in recent years,
with many new state records established. In a very
tough battle that went to the final night of competiton, the
Academy Bullets were able to finish strong and win their fifth
consecutive team championship and 8th age group championship for
the team in the past nine seasons. The Academy Bullets
(1st-1,297.50 pts) won by a slim margin over St. Charles Swim Team
(2nd-1,167 pts) and New Trier Swim Club (3rd-794 pts).
Congratulations to all the Bullet swimmers and coaches on an
outstanding meet and season!
The Bullets had 9 state
championship performances during the 3 day event. Individual
State Champions were: Ally Michaels in
the10&U Girls 50 Fly, Cody Heckendorf in the 10&U Boys 100 Free and 200
Free, Sean Lehane in the 13/14 Boys 200 Back,
Rylee Merges in the 13/14 Girls 50 Free, and
Anna Williams in the 13/14 Girls 100
Fly. Relay champions were the 10&U Boys 200
Free and 200 Medley Relays (John Tjards, Cody Heckendorf,
Ryan Sego, & Eric Dallesasse) and the 11/12 Boys 400
Free and 400 Medley Relays (Christian Harris, Mitchell
Merges, Nick Michaels,& Grant Fritz).

accomplishment.
