Canby Swim Club finished off the long course
season in the traditional manner at the Bend Open August 7-9th. The
Gators had a great meet with loads of best times and some state
qualifying times that will start out the next season. The
Bend Open is a large meet swum in two pools at the same time, with
20 teams in all competing. Canby finished in 7th place
overall with Bend in first, Hillsboro second, McMinnville
3rd Corvallis 4th, Klamath Basin in
5th, Tigard Tualatin in 6th and Bearcats,
Madras, and Nike Ninjas finishing out the top
10.

Baker, Cole Derisio, Michael Haring, Kylie Hester, Samantha Ingle,
Alisha Issa, Carson Manning, Olivia McKenzie, Rachel McKenzie, Erin
Meredith, Amanda Moses, Wesley Norris, Jessie Thompson, Jacqueline
Formick, Brittany Gillespie, Alex Hendrick, Amanda Moore, Buddy
Norris, and Seth Ruwitch.
Gators who scored individually were; Sara
Scott, Seth Ruwitch, Buddy Norris, Amanda Moore, Carrie Kralovec,
Anna Kralovec, Alex Hendrick, Kayley Guay, Brittany Gillespie,
Wesley Norris, Veronica Norris, Alisha Issa and Michael Haring.
Others with some great individual swims were Leah Halderman,
Kaitlyn Hester, Madeline Meredith and Austin
Moses.
The Gators also had some great individual
finishes. Michael Haring was 5th in the 100 free,
the 50 back and 4th in the 100 IM. Kylie Hester
was 2nd in the 6 and under 25 back and 1st in
the 6 and under 25 free. Anna Kralovec finished
4th in the 500 free and 1st in the 100 and
200 fly. Veronica Norris finished 5th in the 50 free,
4th in the 100 IM, 3rd in the 50 fly, and
first in the 50 back. Seth Ruwitch was 3rd in the
500 free and 1st in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.
Brittany Gillespie was 4th in the 100 back, 100 free and
50 free. Kayley Guay finished 4th in the 200 IM,
3rd in the 200 breast and 2nd in the 100
breast. Alex Hendrick swam to a 6th place
finish in the 200 back, while Carrie Kralovec was 5th in
the 100 fly. Buddy Norris also had a great meet earning
4th in the 200 IM, and the 100 free, 3rd in
the 100 fly and 2nd in the 200 fly.
State qualifiers were Kaitlyn Hester, Veronica
Norris and Seth Ruwitch.
