OSI State and Thunderbolt Team
Records Fall

Aug 12: Highlights from the 2009 USA Swimming Speedo Junior Nationals, Federal Way, WA.

Neil O’Halloran finished in a 1st place tie today in the Mens 100 Butterfly, with a new Jr. National meet record time of 53.31.  This time is also a new 15-16 OSI State record and new Thunderbolt team record.  Neil breaks his own record (53.66), set earlier this month.

On Monday, Neil finished 4th in the Mens 200 Butterfly with a new 15-16 OSI State and Thunderbolt team record time of 2:01.45.  Neil breaks the previous OSI State record (2:03.33) set by fellow Thunderbolt Paul Ely in 1998.  Way to go, Neil!

Other notable Thunderbolt swims:

Sarah Cruzan lowered the Thunderbolt team record in the Womens 200 Backstroke by .22 seconds, finishing in 2:16.72.


The Thunderbolt Mens 4x200 (800) Free Relay team of Jonathan Rooker, Connor McCarrol, Steven Ung and Neil O’Halloran set a new Thunderbolt team record of 7:42.39, over 3 seconds faster than the old record, set in 1985.


Connor McCarroll finished 5th in the Mens 200 Backstroke.
