Personalized Cap Order Deadline
was Sept. 18th
The deadline to order personalized
caps has passed. If you did not order these caps, regular AB logo
caps without names are available for you to purchase. Silicone caps
are sold through Kastaways (777-7967) and latex caps are available
in the swim team office.
Picnic Deadline was Sept.
18th
The deadline for this
season’s picnic was last Friday. If you have not already
turned in your form, we will extend this date a few more days.
Please get your reservation form and $12 in to Cathi in the swim
team office asap! This season’s picnic is at Veterans Park
(8531 Forest Rd. Cinti, OH 45255) from 4-7:00pm. Kast-a-way
Swimwear will be there selling suits, caps, goggles, t-shirts, etc.
Richard Tomkins said families who would like to bring their
escrow money to the picnic can do so. Just seek him out to drop off
your payment.
First Used Equipment and
Apparel Sale
We will be hosting our first ABLY
used equipment and apparel sale this Saturday, Sept.
26th at the Y from 9-11:00am outside on the pool
deck. Please drop off your items on Friday, Sept.
25th between 5-7:00pm out on the pool deck. Please see
flyer for details.
First day of practice for our
12 & unders
Monday, Sept. 28th is
the first day of practice for all 12 & unders in the Mini Cuda
group, Jr. Cuda group, Blue Group, Barracuda Group and Campbell Cty
group. Please see our website for details on practice times. This
information can be found under PROGRAMS/COMPETITIVE SWIMMING.
Second Suit-up Day
Kast-a-way swimwear will be
hosting our second suit-up day on Friday, Oct. 9th from
4:30-7:30pm in the exercise room at the Y. For those who were
unable to attend our first suit-up day, (at the picnic), you can
order your team suit and other items at this time. Please note that
you are not guaranteed to have your team suit by the first meet
(Oct. 24th) if you wait until this date. You can always
visit the Kast-a-way store to order your team suit and equipment.
Please call the store for directions.
Team Pictures
Our annual team pictures are
scheduled for either Monday, Oct. 12th or Tuesday, Oct.
13th. Please see our website for details as to when your
particular practice group’s pictures is scheduled.

Invitational
Look for information soon
regarding this meet. Tentative times right now are: Warmups:
7:00am/ Meet start: 8:00am. Meet should be over around 2:00pm.
Did you sign up to work this meet? This counts as one
of your 2 meet sessions required during the
regular season. The second session can come from
the Larry Lyons Meet. The last meet session comes at the end of the
season at Y Champs (Sectionals or League Champs) either the first
or second weekend in March.
T-Shirt Contest
Thanks to Sue Edelberger for
organizing a t-shirt contest for our swim-a-thon t-shirt. Please
see our website for details (flyer). The deadline to submit your
artwork is Oct. 2nd. There is a file folder outside of
the swim team office to drop off your drawing.
Swim-a-thon
Our
annual swim-a-thon is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 26th.
Please see our website (home page) for the time slots for each
practice group. Your group’s age group coordinator will be
contacting you as to food/drink items they need supplied for this
event. All forms associated with this event are also available
on our website. It is each family’s responsibility to
print these and turn them in on time along with any checks/cash.
New this year: we are not billing any businesses!! Therefore,
you will need to collect money upfront from businesses that give
you ads for the Larry Lyons Heat Sheet. If you do not get the money
at the beginning, it will be your responsibility to collect and
turn in this money by Oct. 26th.

Needed
Our YMCA is hosting their annual
Special Olympics Swim Meet on Saturday, Nov. 14th in the
afternoon. If you are interested in helping out, please contact the
swim team office at 474-1400. They are asking for volunteers who
are 8th grade and above. Last year several of our
swimmers helped walk athletes to the block, time, and hand out
awards. This is a good opportunity for attaining service hours for
National Jr. Honor Society and National Honor Society.
