September, Yucaipa Meet
RAA started off the new season with a bang (or should I say with a
beep)! 54 RAA swimmers were in attendance at the meet this
past weekend. Swimmers
worked hard, sometimes swimming back to back events. There
were many exciting races, and fun times for swimmers and their
families.
All the hard work paid off in about 179 ribbons and medals.
More importantly, times improved, and swimmers were able to get
times in events they have not had the chance to swim before
now. Swimmers earned about 42 blue times and 65 red
times. Some reached December Invite times and some even
qualified for the spring J.O.’s.
We are proud of all of our swimmers and their many individual
accomplishments. Remember, setting goals, striving to reach
them and reaching them is part of what swimming is
about. Every swimmer at the meet should be proud of their
accomplishments.
Highlights of the meet include squad 1’s Pilar Lara (5),
swimming in her first meet and doing a great job. Jaison
Clemente (8) got 4th place in the 100 free and also swam the 100

Saldina (12), Elizabeth Jones
(12), Kilohi Chun (12), Alex
Wolf (13), and Jose
Jimenez (14).
Congratulations to ALL the swimmers. It was great to see the
enthusiasm of the RAA families. To see all the swimmers and
their family members at the end of the pool cheering for RAA was
just amazing. Our team is undeniably the best as far as
spirit! We’re off to a great start! Good job
swimmers and parents!
