Coach Terri announces Team Captains/Jr. Captains and Learning Night

Hello to All,

I want to start by saying thank  you to parents and to swimmers.  Our first few weeks of swim team have been awesome thus far. The swimmers are coming to practice eager and wiling to learn and the coaches are excited about their enthusiasm.  Not only are the swimmers coming in and sharing amazing stories with the coaches, they are also coming in with great big smiles on their faces.  As coaches we are determined to out tell their stories.

I realize that the entry into the first few meets has been on the stressful side, especially for our newer parents.  We thank you for your patience and understanding.  The meet deadlines came quickly upon us and that made the process even more stressful then it needed to be.

We are having a special "learning night" for all parents on Monday, September 28th.  It will be held at the Quincy Branch on the second floor, in the Lopes Computer Lab.   Feel free to pop in for some tutoring or a refresher, or even with ja few questions, any time from 5 - 7:30pm.    Having the computers available to us, we will be able to go step by step with parents on how to register your swimmer in a meet, view your swimmers events and other exciting things the site has to offer.  With this "learning night" it will help you to understand how the meets work and what it will take to put your swimmer in.  Please make sure to bring your email log in and password with you to get the most out of your time.

Now with more exciting news, the coaches all got together and voted on Captains and Jr. Captains.  The Captains and Jr. Captains were chosen by their leadership, their enthusiasm, their willingness to help and sense of caring.  Please join us in cogratulating Captains Leah Glennon and Tyler Leuck, and Jr. Captains Molly Weber, and Ned Ramsey.

Captain Leah Glennon - Leah has been with the swim team for over 7 seasons.  She is a Senior/National swimmer, and we have the pleasure of her on our coaching staff for our Mini's team in Quincy.  Leah brings excitement, creativity, and passion to our team.

Captain Tyler Leuck - Tyler has been with the Strypers for 7 seasons.  He is a National Swimmer.  Tyler is always one who sings and or whistles on deck, which has been heard even during practice.  Tyler has interesting stories to be shared among the group.  He brings laughter, and smiles every day.  He has been a role model for our younger swimmers.

Jr. Captain Molly Weber - Molly is on her fourth season with the Stryper swim team.  She is a member of the senior group.  Molly shows off her leadership in the Hanover pool by challenging the kids in her lane.  She always has extra excited energy that is filled with laughter and sunshine.   She is looked up to and respected.

Jr. Captain Ned Ramsay - Ned is entering his fifth seasion with the Strypers.  He is a Senior/National swimmer.  Younger kids in Hanover look up to Ned.  With his great personality he has been able to fit in well with all groups.  Ned brings thoughtfulness and loves to debate any subject.  While being friendly, he likes to be heard.

Have you made someone smile today?  A smile goes a long way.  It feels good when you make someone smile so take a moment and make someone smile today.

- Terri
