St. Andrew’s
Invitational
Pine Crest men and women swimming and
diving teams moved to a 4-0 record as both teams defeated Gulliver
Prep at home this past Friday, the Lady Panthers won 215 to 91 and
it was 178 to 109 for mens team. It was great to see so many
faculty at the meet on Friday and our new students were happy to
see Elena DelAlamo from Admissions following their progress at
school.
On Saturday, the Panthers competed in the St. Andrews Invitational
in Boca Raton and dominated the meet with eight new meet records,
there is a full story in the Sunday Sun-Sentinal and the Lady
Panthers are the feature high school team in Sunday’s Miami
Herald so pick up a copy of both papers today while enjoying your
morning coffee or check it out online at the websites for both
papers. The Sun-Sentinal has a great photo of Thomas Veale
setting the meet record in the 500 free, along with the meet record
in the 100 fly; while the Herald features a photo of Siena DeVenuto
who also set the two meet records in the 200 and 500 free.
Pine Crest will host State Champions Bolles in a dual meet this
Friday at 4:30pm and then we will host our Annual Woodson
Invitational on Saturday that will feature some of the top teams in
the state, with prelims starting at 9am and we move up the finals
to start at 4:30pm.
Come out and support the Panthers this weekend as these meets will
feature some of the best competition prior to the Playoffs of the
District, Region, and State Championships.
It is Great to be a Pine Crest Panther!
