Broward Aquatic
Swim-A-Thon
Thursday, October
22, 2009
ALL
Groups start promptly at 5:00 p.m.
Every Athlete will recieve an
envelope so that your child may gain sponsors to pledge money for
them for each lap they complete or a lump sum amount. Each child will swim for 2 hours or 200 laps which
ever comes first. We would like
to see all swimmers participate in the fun fundraising event! Every
swimmer needs to bring a parent or adult to count their laps for
them.
All swimmers are encouraged
to have a minimum of $100 in pledges.
By acquiring $100 the swimmer gets
their admission paid to our annual banquet on January 17, and it
will go towards the $200 per child annual Booster Club Dues. 5% of the money we collect from the
swim-a-thon is donated to USA Swimming to help support swimming in
the United States, and 10% is donated to Joe DiMaggio’s
Children’s Hospital’s clown Lotsie Dotsie to help her
to continue to bring cheer to children with cancer in our
area.
There will be
prizes:
The three swimmers who are
the highest fundraisers will get to take a limousine to dinner at a
restaurant with Coach Rob and their group coach!!!!
There will also be prizes for
the top fundraiser in each swim group.
Fundraiser prizes cannot be
announced until all money has been collected. All money should be turned in to Jackie Baron or
Kim Emary by November 6.
So go out and ask everyone
you know to sponsor you. Let’s
make this a fun and profitable event for all!
