2009 Florida Swimming LSC Awards

 Florida Swimming LSC Awards

Congratulations to three members of the Bolles Swimming family as their hard work and achievements are now being recognized by our local governing body, Florida Swimming.

Freshman Ryan Murphy has been named as Florida Swimming’s 13-14 swimmer of the year for both short course and long course. At the February Junior Olympics Murphy won every single event in which he entered. In the process he broke four J.O. meet records (100 back, 100 back, 100 fly, 200 I.M.) and one Florida Swimming record (100 back). This past summer Murphy broke four Florida Swimming records (100 back, 200 back, 200 I.M., 100 Fly), won four Junior Olympic titles, and was chosen for U.S.A. Swimming’s National Select Camp after his 10th place performance in the 200 backstroke at the Junior National Championships in Federal Way, Washington. Congratulations Ryan!

Meanwhile the Bolles Swimming officiating crew is getting its due thanks to great efforts from our hard working parents whose volunteer efforts give thousands of kids the opportunity to chase success at meets across the state. In recognition for her dedication, effort, fairness, and accuracy, Karen Stamper is now the recipient of this year’s Al Soltis award which is given for outstanding Stroke and Turn Judge. Bolles Swimming will also have a presence when the National Officials Training Workshop convenes in San Antonio later this month. Sue Talwar has been selected to represent our LSC at the workshop. Sue is a consistent leader in the officiating sphere and Florida Swimming could not have selected a better person to represent our LSC at this event.

Congratulations to everyone and let’s continue to be the best team to coach, swim with, and volunteer for in all of Florida!

Thank you
