Charlotte High School(CCS) swimmers
do very well at the 2009 Tri County Championships held at the Selby
Aquatic Center in Sarasota. Many personal best were recorded
as well as 5 new CHS school records were set. Addison
Cates set two school records in the 50 and 100 free and
Kelsey Frantz set school records in the 200 and
500 free. The team of Kelsey Frantz, Tori Georgoulis,
Sydney Oritz, and Angelina Jeffries set the school record
in the 400 free relay. First place finishes were turned in by
Addison Cates in the 50 free, Caleb
Coldiron in the 100 breast, Angelina
Jeffries in the 50 free, and Trevor
Scott in the 100 backstroke. Top three finishers
were: Addison Cates 3rd 100 free, Danny
Douglas 3rd 200 free, Kelsey Frantz 2nd
in both the 200 and 500 free, Daniel Hughes 2nd
500 free, Caleb Coldiron 2nd 200 IM,
Peter Hughes 3rd in the 200 IM, Andrew
Moran 3rd in both the 100 fly and 500 free, Sydney
Ortiz 2nd in the 100 free, and Angelina
Jeffries 2nd in the 100 breaststroke. The girls 200
and 400 free relays both finished 2nd in very close races and the
boys 200 medley and 200 free relays finished 3rd while the 400 free
relay finished 2nd. Kelsy Frantz made an All
American consideration time in the 500 free. In the team
scores, CHS boys finished 1st with 495 points and the girls
finished 4th with 266 points.
