season ABC meet in Hood River!

information and

entries. Please note you may pick your events for this meet
and the coaches have reviewed and made their final descions.
All PAC Bronze, Silver, Gold, Senior Prep and Senior
Swimmers should participate in this meet! This
year we have nearly 90 swimmers competing. If your
swimmer is unable to attend please let us know ASAP so we can
alert the meet directors. You will not be able to get a
refund, but it will help the meet run
smoothly.
Warm-up Schedule: Friday PAC
swimmers should arrive at 4:45 pm, in the water at 5
pm. On Saturday and Sunday we will split our warm-up
into two sessions: Seniors in first, so arrive at
7:30 am, in the water at 7:45 am. The rest of the team please
be ready to warm-up by 8:15 am, so arrive by 8:00 am. Anyone
who arrives early we will try to squeeze you in early (in our
shared lane 6).
Please note the coaches will make every effort
to place all PAC swimmers into at least one relay during the
meet. Please let us know if you would not like to participate
in relays. Also, please note swimmers will be billed after
the meet for any relays they participate in.
This is the first time we have used the website
exclusively for meet entries! Please note the meet fees
listed below do not reflect the PAC surcharge which you will find
on your PAC bill.
From the meet director:
Hi coaches,
Our meet is coming together very nicely - thanks
for the entries! We are full to the brim, so if you have any
scratches, please let me know as soon as possible as that will be
extremely helpful. Also remind your families that it will be
crowded, and please be mindful to only put blankets down where you
are sitting. The air temperature tends to be cool at our
pool, so may be helpful to remind families to dress
warmly.
We will have camping for RV’s in the
parking lot next to Jackson Park (between the park and the baseball
field) where it has been the past few years. Campers can set
up tents on the outfield of the baseball field, but please DO
NOT DRIVE on the baseball field! Be sure to bring an
empty cooler to place over the sprinkler heads if you are in a
tent. We ask ahead of time for the city to turn them off, but
at times they still come on. So, be prepared. We will
do what we can to have them not bother you during the
weekend. May also be cool - the temperature has definitely
dropped this past week. However, the sun is still
shining. Hopefully this will be the case next weekend as
well.
Here are a few other notes on the meet,
including warm up/warm down and lane timing
assignments.
Warm Up
and Lane Timing Assignments Oct 16, 17 & 18
Team
Lane(s)
Portland Aquatic
Club
7,8 &
share 6
Friday
night there are only 5 teams attending, so for the first 30 minutes
we will need additional timers to cover all the lanes during the
200 & 400 IMs. Reminder: For the 500 swimmers, each
swimmer needs to provide their own timers on Friday
night.
We will need
2 timers during the meet in each lane, and one additional timer
during the few heats of 25’s for the 8 and unders.
Please designate one additional parent to assist with the
25’s. Thank you for organizing your parents in advance
for timing so the meet can run smoothly.
We welcome
and appreciate all the officials we can get from visiting
teams. THANK YOU!
The timeline
& psyche sheet has been posted on our website at
www.hrvst.org If you have any scratches, please notify
me as soon as you can so we can get them out of the heat sheet if
possible.
Warm ups are
as usual – your team will have your lane(s) the entire warm
up period. Coaches, you may break it up how you wish, and do
racing starts when it is convenient for your
team.
Apples from
Moore Orchards once again will be sold for $10/box and iPod Touch
raffle tickets will be sold for $2 each, with all proceeds from
both these sales benefiting the HRVST.
For all the
non-swimmers coming with their families, there is a Harvest Dash in
town on Saturday October 17th . Details are as
follows:
