NAPLES MEET: GCST swimmers win 7 high point awards...scoring corrected

GCST has 4 High Point award winners, 3 runner-ups, and 10 new championship cuts

GCST swimmers captured 4 out of 8 High Point Winner Awards at the SWIM Naples Meet on October 16-18, 2009. We also had 3 runner-up High Point Awards. Winning their age groups were Sydney McMurray (10 & Under Girls), Thomas Malooly (10 & Under Boys), Eric Ordaz (11 & 12 Boys), and Blake Woodrow (Senior Boys). High Point runner-ups were Melissa Arbeleaz, and Dani Lea Jordan (11 & 12 Girls), and Courtney DeVeny (Senior Girls).

10 & Under Boys - Darrien Heil 4th, Spencer Liggins and Kevin Ordaz tied 10th.
11 & 12 Girls - Savannah Bowser 4th, Lauren McLeod 6th, Olivia Horton 7th, Bean Faunce 9th.
11 & 12 Boys - Stephen Fedec 4th, Madison Riley 8th.
Senior Girls - Lexi Faunce 4th, Nikki McCollum 7th, Melissa Arbeleaz 10th.
Senior Boys - Matt Nielsen 3rd, Zach Jamieson 9th.   

New Cuts...
GCST had 45 Junior Olympic qualifying swims and 10 new championship qualifying times at the meet.
Melissa Arbelaez swam a JO cut in the 200 IM, and a Spring Sectional cut in the 200 Back.
Courtney DeVeny swam new 13 & 14 JO cuts in the 500 Free, and 400 IM. Thomas Malooly swam new 10 & Under JO cuts in the 200 Free, 200 IM, and 50 Free. Sydney McMurray swam a new 10 & Under JO cut in the 100 Free. Eric Ordaz swam new 11 & 12 JO cuts in the 100 and 200 IM’s.
