Emily Cameron invited to National Select Camp At Colorado Springs

Emily Cameron  has been selected by USA Swimming to attend the 2009 Speedo National Select Camp held at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado from October 29- November 1. Swimmers are invited based on the top two 2009 Long course meter times in the country in each Olympic event for females 13-14 and males 13-16.   A total of 60 swimmers from throughout the US will participate in the camp.
Cameron competed in the USA Speedo Junior National meet in August in Federal Way, Washington. Swimmers must be 18 or under and meet qualifying time criteria. Emily swam in 5 events returning to finals twice. Her time of 1.11.39 in the 100 meter breast earned her an 8th place medal (3rd in the country for a 14 year old). In the 400 I.M., she swam another personal best by over 8 seconds to finish 13th in 4:52.56 (another 3rd in the country for a 14 year old).    She also swam the 200 breast, 2:34.57, 200 I.M., 2.21.62 and 50 free 27.43 (all long course meters).
The National Select Camp will give Cameron the opportunity to learn from past Olympians and train with the best swimmers in her age group from around the country. She will also have access to all of the cutting edge technology available to swimmers today.
Head Coach Casey Coble will be attending the camp also.
