Hello DAPA members,
We have been presented with a unique opportunity to keep the Del
Amigo pool open for the months of November, December, January, and
the first week of February. Here's the scoop.
The DAPA board has agreed to lease the lap pool to the
680
Water Polo Club from Nov 30 to Feb 5, 2010 for a
variety of youth swimming &
water polo programs. As a result, the pool will
be heated during that time. And as we have done in past
years, we are hoping to keep the pool heated in November if we get
enough families to pay for the pool energy costs. So for the
first time in recent memory, it is possible to lap swim during the
winter at DAPA. Coach Janet has thrown in a extra FREE bonus
gift by offering to extend the Association's Fall Swim clinic to
all members (even if you didn't participate in the first Fall Swim
clinic) from Oct 26 to Nov 24. This is an extra 5 weeks of
swim instruction for your children for FREE.
As a result, DAPA is offering a "Winter Pass" for only $150 per
member family (not per person or child). Here's what you get
for only $150:
-
Lap Swimming 6am-3pm everday from 11/1/09 -
2/4/10
-Youth swim clinic 10/26 - 11/24. 4-5pm for 8yr & under.
5-6pm for 9yr & up swimmers.
I encourage as many of you to partcipate as possible. Use
the extra pool time to stay in shape during the holiday season and
make it a
New Year's resolution to swim. I'm sure
there will be polar bear swimmers on the morning of January 1st to
ring in the New Year.
We need a minimum of 35 families to purchase a winter pass to fund
the extra costs. Please respond by Friday Oct 23rd.

The pool schedule would be:
-Lap Swimming everday from 11/1/09 - 2/4/10 from 6am-3:30pm -Youth
swim clinic 10/26 - 11/24. 4-5pm for 8yr & under. 5-6pm
for 9yr & up swimmers.
-680 Water Polo lease 11/30/08 - 2/4/09 from 3:45 - 8:30pm
Lap swimmers and 680 Water Polo will be responsible for removing
the pool covers to swim and replacing the covers after they
swim. We need to keep the tarps on the pool to keep the
energy costs down. The lap pool will not be uncovered all day
long as it is during the summer. The wader pool will be
closed.
