AGE GROUP FALL LEAGUE MEET # 4
NEWS
Saturday, October 24 was a beautiful day out
at Glendale Community College for the final regular season meet of
the year-round competitive Age Group’s Fall League. In all,
40 MAC swimmers participated! The morning and afternoon
sessions were both productive. Unfortunately, the A session of the
meet saw technical difficulties resulting in manual whistle starts
instead of the usual electronic starts. Every one was a good sport about
it and still managed to pull off season and lifetime bests.
Congrats to Ty Dang who has consistently
swam best times through all the fall meets. This Saturday’s was no
exception with best times and team records in all three events:
11-12 100 back, 100 breast and 200 IM. Ty also achieved Far Western cuts
in the 100 back and 200 IM. 8 and Under swimmer
Katie McBratney continues to break her own records, this time in
the 50 fly and the 50 back. In addition, Katie picked up
another 10 & U State Q time in the 50 back. Good job Katie. Other team records that fell:
11-12 girls: 100 IM: Jackie Winston.; 200 back and 200 free: Brie
Alford. 11-12 boys:
200 breast Kyle Zabokrtsky. 13-14 girls: 200 IM Makenna
Schmidgall.
The swimmers continue to work hard
and will now begin training for the upcoming Fall League
Championships to be held November 14 and 15. Preliminaries will be at
Scottsdale Aquatics on the 14th and Finals will be at Marlins
(Phoenix Country Day).
