Saskatoon Meet Report

Over the week end of October 22, the Bears were in action in Saskatoon.  Although we entered the meet with specific individual goals, as a team we set a goal to win the meet.  Our event selection did not support the goal, however as a team we challenged ourselves to be the best even though we swam our swimmers outside of their best events.

That being said, we did not swim the meet on the Thursday, so going into the Friday, we would be down all points earned on the previous day.  Unprepared & swimming full work outs prior to racing, the swimmers race hard on the first day, finishing the day in first by 500 points.  Scoring the meet 50-30-20...allows a team with presence to score plenty of points, and that is where we lost our hold on the Sunday. Entering the final day we had swimmers in 2 out of 5 events, and managed to hold on to our lead right up to the last event.

Throughout the weekend the Bears conducted themselves with pride and professionalism amassing compliments from spectators throughout the weekend.
