Larry Lyons Invitational
We will
be hosting our annual Larry Lyons Invitational Nov.
6-8th. We still have openings for items needed for the
Cuda Café (fruit, pasta, cookies). Please check the back
bulletin board at the Y to see what you can donate. All workers
should check in with either K-T Overbey or Denise Siegel at the
START of warm-ups. Anyone who is still interested in filling a spot
this weekend, should contact K-T Overbey at overbey@fuse.net. You may also ask the
check-in person at the beginning of warm-ups if there are any
cancellations or spots open during that session. Warmups for Friday
night are: 4:30pm and the Meet starts: 5:30pm. 13 & overs:
Saturday and Sunday morning warm-ups are at: 6:15am and the Meet
starts: 8:00am. Warm-ups for all 12 & unders on Saturday and
Sunday are at 11:30am and meet starts at 12:30pm. Kast-a-way will
be at the meet on both Saturday and Sunday. Childcare will be
available from Noon-4:00pm both Saturday and Sunday. Please see

Revised Practice Schedule
Please
see the home page of our website for the revised practice schedule
for this week. We will notify you when the indoor pool heater has
been fixed and we can resume our normal schedule.
Swim-a-Thon
We had a great turnout of
volunteers to help implement the teams single largest fund
raiser. The slight change in venues (relocation to dome)
actually turned out for the best as the environment was fun and
festive for all. Let’s not forget those swimmers who
set new goals for themselves and swam lap after lap -- incredible
accomplishments by all. Most importantly, let us recognize
Peg Luehrmann who has managed our Swim-a-Thon program for many
years. Many years is defined as we actually lost track, but
believe it to be 6 or more. Managing this program is a large
undertaking, but to do it for 6 years is testament to her
commitment to the team and our children. We lose Peg this
year as she graduates her final swimmer through the program –
of course if you would like to stick around we have a spot for
you. Thank you to Peg, our many volunteers and
swimmers.
Deadline for Makos
Meet
The deadline for the Makos Meet in
December at Miami University is Nov. 7th. Please check
with your individual age group coach as to whether your child
should be entered in this meet. The hotel deadline is Nov.
11th. All hotel information can be found on our website
under HOTELS. You must login to view this information.
Adopt-a-troop Donations needed
As you
know, this year we are adopting a troop of 120 soldiers from
Afghanistan. Each practice group has specific items we are asking
them to donate. Our Red II, Red I and White II groups are being
asked to buy 2 pillowcases (and toiletries) so we can place all
donated items in them for each soldier. We are asking that these
donated items be dropped off in the dome on Monday, Tuesday, or
Wednesday Nov. 23rd. 24th or 25th.
Pillowcases are due on by Nov. 20th. We will be having a
party on Saturday, Nov. 28th at 1:00 pm where
each swimmer can fill a pillowcase with donated items. Please see
the home page of our website for what your child’s group is
asking for.
