BISC NEWSLETTER – NOVEMBER 2009

BISC SWIM MEET ENTRIES:  The BISC swim meet entries increased to well over 60 swimmers in each of our first two meets this fall short course season.  We were impressive with our numbers in participation and best times.  We can contribute this to our hard work and racing over the long course season and the fact that our young swimmers are more aware of the rules of competition and are older and stronger.  Statistics have proven that swimmers with the best attendance at practice and who enter meets have more fun, are higher motivated, and stay in the sport longer.

Though we encourage entering meets, we must remind swimmers and parents that it is very important to get your entries in by our BISC deadline so we can enter relays and beat the meet deadline so we are assured of getting in the meet.  Some meets entries close when the maximum number of swimmers are reached.  This is especially true during long  course season.  Enter on line.  No entry fee checks needed. Your account will be billed.

MOVING UP TO THE NEXT GROUP:  Congratulation to eleven BISC swimmers who have earned the chance to move up to the next group level by making legal IM repeats on the send-off required to move up to the next workout level.  The required send off for each level is posted on the bulletin board and handed out at a recent team meeting.

NEW BISC TEAM RECORDS:  Congratulations are in order for BISC swimmers who have bettered  the existing BISC records listed on the Record Board at the deep end of the pool.  The new team record holders are:  Garrett Waite and Kim Williams.  Their new records are:  Garrett:  50 Brst, 100 Brst, 100 Fly & 50 Back, 100 Back
