Congratulations to all Sect 1 High School Swimmers

The GAEL Aquatic Club, it coaches and swimmers would like to congratulate all the GAEL swimmers that participated in last night Sect. 1 Girls High School Swimming Finals.

Our Gael Swimmers had an impressive night, with the Kayla Leslie, leading off her teams 200 Medley relay with a (29.4) and Maggie Tracy anchoring the relay team (24.03) to take 2nd place and an Automatic Time for States and  All-American Consideration Time. Also in the mix for the Medley relay last night was Alex Fusco who was the anchor for the Eastchester HS Team with a time of 27.52.

In the 50 Free Maggie Tracy took the gold with 24.66 qualifying her for the States Championships, also in the 50 Free was Maureen O'Reilly with a time of 25.72.

In the 100 Free Maggie Tracy again qualified for the NY State Championships taking 3rd overall with a time of 53.97.

In the 200 Fr relay the duo of Maggie Tracy (24.31) and Tara DeVerna (25.29) helped their squad take first overall, while Claire O'Reilly (25.74 and Maureen O'Reilly's (25.56) efforts helped their team take 3rd over all, also qualifying for the State Championships.

In the 100 Back two more Gaels had impressive swims with Kayla Leslie taking 7th overall with an State Qualifying time of 1:01.26 and Christine Mannix coming in 16th with a time of 1:03.89.

In the 100 Breast Tara DeVerna took 11th place overall with a time of 1:11.01  but in pre-lims she was under the State Cut with a time of 1:10.36.

Ending the night with the 400 free Relay Tara DeVerna helped her team take 2nd overall with a split of 55.74 and Claire (57.59) and Maureen (57.87) helped their relay team come in 4th overall.
