Envious Swims Strong at Regionals

Envious Swimming recently competed in the New England Regionals at the Greater Lawrence Tech in Andover, MA.  Unfortunately, with a last minute venue change only 23 swimmers were able to participate.  Amazingly, of those 23, 17 were Top 8 Finishers and received medals.  The team also had eight 1st place finishes.  Marc Andrews, 9, had the best day by taking 1st in the Boys 9-10 50 Free (32.16), 100 Free (1:11.97) and 50 Breast (43.45).  With his times in those events he qualified to swim in the 12 & Under Age Group Championships.  Followed closely behind was Nicole Trupiano, 11, with two 1st place finishes in the Girls 11-12 50 Breast (36.41) and 200 Breast (2:53.79) and also qualifying her for Age Groups.  Nicole Passa, 16, placed first in the Girls 15-19 100 Free with a time of 58.08, Ivana Andrews, 12, placed first in the Girls 11-12 50 Back with a time of 32.54 (also qualifying for Age Groups) and Ava Andrews, 7, placed first in the Girls 8 & Under 50 Fly with a time of 40.54

Coach Marshall Muir was very pleased with his team.  “Even as a new team we were thrilled with how the swimmers swam.  Almost everyone had personal best times in every eventý, he stated.  He continued, “ “On behalf of myself and the parents we would like to thank Dave Sieczkiewiecz, Joey Beagan, Andrew Muir, Tori and Hera Delesio and Betsy McLaughlin for their coaching efforts. Without these coaches none of this would be possible. Each of these coaches has contributed to the overall success of the club and we extend to them our biggest congratulations and thanks.ý

While this signifies the end of the short course season, Envious will begin to train for the long course season.  Envious also offers Learn to Swim programs for all ages.  If you are interested in more information please contact Marshall Muir at 286-4107.
