We are excited to announce that Coach Brian Brown will be our
new FAST Head Coach and Chief Operating Officer effectively as of
November 1st, 2011.
Coach Brown has twenty years of experience working with
exceptional swimmers; he has developed multiple National Record
Holders, National and Junior National Champions, National Youth
Team members and first-time Olympic Trials qualifiers.
Coach Brown was the Head Coach and founder of the Hydro Swim
Team in New York, producing two Senior National Consolation
Finalists and one Junior National Finalist. Prior experiences
included leading the AGUA Swim Team in Manhattan from 2002 to 2010.
During his tenure the AGUA program became nationally-recognized as
one of the Top-10 age group programs in the country. Prior to his
eight years at AGUA, he was the Head Coach of the Scarlet Aquatic
Club in Piscataway, NJ where he worked with future Olympic Champion
and World Record Holder, Rebecca Soni and won two Sectional Team
titles (2002).
Coach Brown was the Head Coach at the National Select Camp in
2009 and served as an Assistant Coach in 2002. He was also selected
to the coaching staff of two National Youth Teams in 2009 that
traveled to World Cup meets in Stockholm, Sweden and Berlin,
Germany and Vancouver, BC. He has published numerous articles on
his technique and training ideas in Swimming World, American
Swimming, and ASCA magazines.
Recently, Coach Brown received the USA Swimming Developmental
Coach of the Year Award at the USA Swimming Convention for placing
three swimmers on the Junior National Team.
Coach Brown will be on deck as of November 1, 2011.
