|FAST Posts 86% Best Times at Younger JO's!|| |

FAST's 12 & Unders raced very well at Junior Olympics last weekend. Overall we had 86% best times! Highlights are noted below. Complete results can be viewed here.
Six of our swimmers earned second swims by finishing in the Top 16.
- Makena Ditsworth: 50 Fly (14th), 100 Fly (9th)
- Simon Lamar: 100 Free (10th), 200 Free (4th), 500 Free (6th), 200 IM (13th)
- Harrison Lee: 50 Fly (15th)
- Terence Ma: 50 Fly (16th), 200 IM (12th)
- Lily Olson: 50 Fly (13th)
- Carley Vaccher: 50 Free (13th), 100 Free (11th), 50 Back (15th), 100 Back (7th), 100 IM (14th)
Makena's swim in the 100 Fly was a new Southern California Reportable Time (SCRT) and she knocked off over 5 seconds from her entry time. Simon Lamar achieved new SCRTs in the 500 Free, 200 Free, 200 IM and 100 Free, all of which were fantastic time drops, including over 20 seconds in his 500 Free! Lily Olson's 13th place finish in the 50 Fly was a new SCRT and almost 3 seconds faster than her previous best time. Carley Vaccher's 100 IM was a new SCRT and a 2 second drop.
Nine other swimmers posted lifetime bests throughout the weekend. Garrett Dowell swam best times in the 50 Free and 100 Free leading off the 11-12 Boys 200 Free Relay and 400 Free Relay. Roseryn Empremsilapa dropped in the 50 Back, 100 Back and 100 Fly. Annika Johnson also hit best times in the Backstrokes, leading off the Girls 200 Medley Relay with a best in the 50 and posting a best in her 100 in the individual event. Evelyn McIlveen dropped almost a full second in the 50 Free and took 20th place overall, just tenths out of the Top 16. Anneliese Petitt swam best times in both of her races -- the 50 Free and 50 Fly. Cathryn Salladin had a great drop in the 500 Free and also knocked half a second off of her 50 Breast time. Nate Tingen led off both of the 11-12 Boys Medley Relays with best times in the Backstrokes, dropping over 3 seconds in the 100. Another 3+ second drop was turned in by Courtney Tseng in the 200 Free. Courtney also knocked off a half of a second in the 50 Fly. Brooke Walker had an outstanding 50 Breast, dropping over a second and a half from her previous best time.
