Excellence or Success
Please see the attached article recommended by Head Coach John Bitter, “Excellence or Success” by Jon Gordon. There is a very important difference between Excellence and Success. “Success is often measured by comparison to others. Excellence, on the other hand, is all about being the best we can be and maximizing our gifts, talents and abilities to perform at our highest potential.” At Santa Clara Swim Club, we strive for both, but know that Success is largely a byproduct of Excellence.

Senior 1
No news!

Senior 2
Good job at last weekends meet! Were off to a great start for the season, but we still have lots of work to do. Missing a workout after a meet will not help you in the process of training. Remember we want to swim faster at the end of the season, but it wont happen if were not in the moment NOW! Enjoy the process!

Gold - boys
- Gold Boys will be starting dryland for the entire group every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:45-5:15 PM.
- Please have goal sheets to Coach Caleb not later than Oct. 30th.
Have a great week!

Gold - girls
Last weekend the Gold Girls swam fast and got best times; great job everyone! The hard work is paying off! We are going to have busy November. The fastest swimmers come as many as 5-6 times per week and remember, Saturday practice is the most important practice of the week.

Blue
Many of us have our first short course meet of the season in the next two weeks. Let us stay sharp through our workouts, let us be smart in what we are doing, and let us get ready to race fast and have fun!

Yellow 1/2
- PASA Invite entries are posted in the team room. Please confirm that you will attend the meet on November 10-11 with Coach Steve by Tuesday, October 30.
- As I mentioned in the Yellow Bell parent meeting, all coaches will let the parents parent and we ask that you let the coaches coach. Specifically, please do not negatively evaluate your child's performance before they can discuss it with the coach(es). If you have any questions, please contact coach Mark at mark.taliaferro@yahoo.com.

White Junior/White Senior
We will be having a Halloween Parade at the International Swim Center Wednesday, October 31st at 5:15pm! All groups are invited for a parade around the pool, candy and a costume contest!

QSS and CRUZ Meet Recaps
SCSC tore it up at TWO venues last weekend at QSS’s Senior Meet and the CRUZ Age Group Meet! We had some great swims, lots of best times, and some new cuts. Congratulations to:
