LASC was successful in the pool and on the deck, hosting a first
class Alberta Senior Provincials, February 1-3. We had eight
LASC swimmers represent us very well with 34 best times, 13 scoring
swims and two new Western Canadian Championships
qualifiers!
Congratulations to Jordan Calladine and Sara Little, both 13, making their qualifying times for Westerns. Jordan improved to 31.04 in 50 Back, a best time by a full second. Not to be outdone, Sara moved forward by 1.5 seconds in 50 Fly to 30.29. Both swims rank in the top 10 in Canada for 13 year olds.
Aidan Godwin was our highest placing swimmer with a 4th in 200 Breast and 6th in 100 Breast. Brittany Freund made finals in the sprint free events with 6th in the 50 and 7th in the 100 - breaking 1:00 for the first time!
Kaelan Freund made a big impact on our 13-14 Team Records with four new benchmarks. In the 50 Breast, Kaelan broke the longest standing male LASC record, Mike Pinder's 50 Breast from 1989. He also set records in 100/200 Back and 200 Breast.
Well Done LASC!
