Another high school season is complete and we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of our high school swimmers on a job well done. Several SCSC swimmers stood out with their performances at the CCS Championships held May 19, 2007 at Stanford University.
Taylor Smith captured the 200 Freestyle and the 500 Freestyle in new CCS record times of 1:38.28 and 4:22.37 respectfully. Taylor also anchored his high school's (Bellarmine Prep) 200 Free Relay in a 20.6 and his 400 Free Relay in 44.9. The 200 Free Relay also set a new CCS record.
Courtney Monsees completed her outstanding high school career capturing her 6th and 7th CCS titles in the 200 Freestyle and the 500 Freestyle. Courtney only blemish in her four years at Leland was her second place finish in the 200 Freestyle her freshman season.
Stephanie Wei won the 100 Backstroke in a time of 5636 and was second to Courtney in the 200 Freestyle with a personal best of 1:50.80.
Jamie Cisar finished her high school career with a third place finish and personal best in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 56.86. She also finished 8th in the 100 Freestyle and was a member along with Stephanie Wei in the winning 400 Freestyle Relay for Mitty High School.
Brandt Robinson finished his high school career for Lynbrook capturing 8th in the 50 Freestyle and 5th in the 100 Freestyle.
Junior Ryan Hinshaw (Saratoga) finished 5th in the 500 Freestyle with a personal best of 4:38.45 and took 9th in the 200 Freestyle also with a personal best.
Paul Kim finished 5th in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 53.52 and led off his high school's (Homestead) 200 Free Relay with a personal best of 21.59.
Michael Langdon swimming for Valley Christian did his best in the 100 Butterfly swimming in the consolation final as did Lauren Opatrny, who competed for her high school, Saratoga and made consolation finals in both the 100 Backstroke and the 100 Breaststroke.
David Kuo and Alvin Wong competing for their high schools, St. Francis and Lynbrook both made the consolation finals in the 200 and 500 Freestyles. Bellarmine Prep captured its 23 men's title, while Mitty High School won the women's title.
