Following Nationals, USA Swimming held its first Junior Championships in six years at the William Woollett Pool in Irvine, California (site of this summer's Nationals). Five swimmers from Santa Clara competed; Brian Rose, Taylor Smith, Scott Jackson, Brandt Robinson, and Dominique Lazarovici.
In competition, Brian Rose finished second with a new National time standard in the 200 Free. He was also named to NSCA Junior All-Star team for this finish.
Taylor Smith captured sixth in both the 400 Free and 1500 Free with new National standards of 4:02.7 and 15:55.9, respectively.
Scott Jackson finished fifth in the 100 Back with a time of 59.0 and was also 13th in the 200 Back with a personal best of 2:09.2.
Brandt Robinson competing in his first "national" level meet swam best times in both the 50 and 100 Free, while Dominique Lazarovici finished her summer with seasonal bests in both the 100 and 200 Back.
