SCSC swimmers, Eric Lynch, Brian Rose, Taylor Smith, Scott Jackson, Courtney Monsees, Dominique Lazarovici, Jamie Cisar, Stephanie Wei, and Anya Vo as a team, finished in the top ten at this summer's National Championships for the Combined Team Title for 18-Unders.
Their 7th place finish is the highest achievement for SCSC for the 18-under title in the last six years. In addition to the above mentioned, Chris Talbott and Matt Smith also competed with our team in the overall race.
Both the women and men scored at Nationals this summer, marking an excellent start to the upcoming four years! SCSC continues to make inroads into the race with a bright group of 18-unders.
Among the notable swims were Brian Rose in the 800 Free, finishing 16th with a time of 8:13. Taylor Smith and Eric Lynch also did personal bests with times of 8:22 and 8:18 respectfully. Courtney Monsees finished 13th in the 100 Free with a personal best of 57.0 and 10th in the 200 IM with a personal best of 2:19.0. The men's 800 Free Relay (Lynch, Smith, Talbott, and Rose) finished 15th. Also, Matt Smith swam a personal best in the 100 Breast, 1:04.5 and finished 16th.
Overall the swimmers who competed did personal bests in 9 of the 12 possible individual swims SCSC had throughout the week of competition.
Congratulations to all who competed! We are looking forward to even a better year with several of these swimmers having already achieved their National cuts for the Spring and Summer of 2006, and more yet to come!
