Santa Clara Swimmers great at CCS

CCS Championships were held May 13-14, 2005 at Stanford University. Many SCSC high school swimmers represented both their high school and our team with impressive swims. The men's competition was won by Bellarmine College Prep and the women's meet was won by Palo Alto High School. Among the notable performances were Eric Lynch winning the 500 Free in 4:26.9 and finishing second to his club and high school teammate Taylor Smith in the 200 Free. Taylor was second in the 500 Free. Also placing in the 200 Free for men were Cory Vo and Larry Wen. In the 500 Free, Cory Vo, David Kuo, and Fred Hwang scored for their respective high schools. Bellarmine and Santa Clara swimmer, Scott Jackson won the 100 Back in a time of 50.02 and newest member of the club, Brandt Robinson finished in the top eight. Brandt also finished second in the 50 Free with a time of 21.2. Other notable swims from the men's side were Scott Wong in the 200 IM (6th), Michael Pickens in the 100 Breast (11th), and Larry Wen in the 100 Breast (6th). On the women's side, Courtney Monsees won both the 200 and 500 Free for Leland high school, in times of 1:49.9 and 4:55. Jamie Cisar scored in both the 50 and 100 Free, while Dominque Lazarovici scored top eight in the 100 Back and 200 Free. In addition to these excellent performances, many other SCSC swimmers competed and did best times for the season. Among those were Bruno Mehich, Taro Moberly, Olivia Chung, and Nosheen Pouya. Congratulations to all who competed for their high schools and performed up to their best at this year's CCS Championships!
